Thursday, 17\u00a0September, Singapore\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<\/span>Phillip Nova today announced the opening of UZEX Global JV LLC (\u201cUZEX Global\u201d), a joint venture established by the Uzbek Commodity Exchange (\u201cUZEX\u201d) and Phillip Trading, a member of the\u00a0PhillipCapital\u00a0Group\u00a0(\u201cthe Group\u201d), to provide access to international futures markets.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The launch marks a new chapter in the growing economic and business relationship between Uzbekistan and Singapore and supports Uzbekistan\u2019s continued development as a more open and internationally connected economy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

UZEX Global combines UZEX\u2019s strong local foundations and knowledge of Uzbekistan\u2019s commodity markets with\u00a0PhillipCapital\u2019s\u00a0international financial-market experience. The joint venture is intended to serve as a bridge between Uzbek businesses and international financial and commodity markets, giving market participants greater access to global opportunities and tools to manage their exposure to international market developments.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Through UZEX Global, corporate clients in Uzbekistan will be able to access commodity futures linked to international markets, with\u00a0initial\u00a0access to markets including CME Group,\u00a0Intercontinental Exchange (ICE)\u00a0and the London Metal Exchange (LME). These markets provide exposure to a range of globally traded commodity\u00a0futures contracts, supporting the trading and risk-management needs of businesses as Uzbekistan\u2019s economy becomes increasingly integrated with the global economy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

UZEX Global will also use Phillip Nova\u2019s technology suite, including NOVA\u2019s trading platform, risk management\u00a0system\u00a0and back-office system, to support its operations and provide an integrated infrastructure for trading, risk\u00a0management\u00a0and post-trade processes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
