S&P makes sixth consecutive day of gains

21 Oct 2021

📈 SPX | 4,364 (+13, +0.3%)
📉 DJIA | 34,378 (-1, 0.0%)
📈 CCMP | 14,572 (+106, +0.7%)

🎉 The S&P500 is making its best start to an earnings season in two years, having gained about +3.6% within the first week alone thanks to the strong earnings beat so far.

💸 The US Dollar continued its fall yesterday, as many believe that major central banks elsewhere are likely to raise interest rates before the Federal Reserve does. Crude oil also made some gains after data showed that US oil inventories fell by more than expected.

⚡️ Tesla (+0.2%) fell by -1.6% after trading hours despite announcing record revenue and profits for Q3 2021. While investors are seemingly demanding even greater outperformance from the company, Tesla has interestingly improved margins and profits – while relying much less on regulatory credit sales, a major point of concern for many in the past.
